Many customers can’t decide whether to book the 1 or 2hr trip. 3 Uni girls from Auckland couldn’t make up their minds so I made a special offer. They could come for the training before making a decision. While we normally collect payment prior to the trip, I held off collecting to give them the opportunity to decide.
Something new
The girls were already enjoying something new with the Segways in training. I knew they’d enjoy the unique way of seeing Queenstown that the Segways provide so I made another special offer. I told them that as I knew they’d love the 2hr experience then I’d take them on that. If they didn’t feel like they could afford to pay the full price, then they just pay what they can afford. They happily accepted the offer. Payment would have to wait until later once they’d decided what they were going to pay. I knew they were going to have a great experience.
Lots of fun was had taking in the amazing Queenstown sightseeing while enjoying the fun activity of riding the Segways. We covered around 10kms in the 2hrs, including training time, so they could really see a whole lot more of Queenstown without walking. They were glad when choosing between the 1 or 2hr trip that they’d selected the longer option.
Once back at the finish point, I reminded the girls that I’d given them some cost flexibility and asked them what they wanted to pay. One girl stated that as they’d received such great service, then they should pay full price. They’d already stated that they thought the Segways were a more affordable activity offering more value for money with a 2hr activity than many other options in Queenstown.
They appreciated the service and experience and I appreciated the payment. Win/Win!
